The Singapore Operations Center (SOC) building recently earned the highest environmental honor in the Singapore building industry – a Green Mark Platinum award from the Singapore Building and Construction Authority (BCA). The Green Mark program assesses buildings for energy and water efficiency, indoor environmental quality and environmental protection, and the adoption of other green features.

Water Conservation Award
Applied Materials was awarded a 2009 Silicon Valley Water Conservation Award for programs and leadership that have advanced water conservation in Silicon Valley. Applied's water conservation goal is to reduce consumption in our facilities by at least 10% by 2012. To date, we have instituted projects that have saved over 51 million gallons of water—the equivalent of 2,500 average size swimming pools!
