By providing young people opportunities to explore new ideas and experiences, the future becomes brighter for all. Program highlights:

• In the U.S., Applied launched an Education Initiative in key sites to provide a comprehensive approach targeting the entire educational pathway in selected under-performing neighborhoods.
• The Applied Materials Foundation recently launched a scholarship program to encourage women and girls to excel in technical fields leading to careers in science and engineering.
• Digital Equalizer Centers provide high school students in Bangalore, India with exposure to technology, much of which is solar-powered.
• Programs in Israel teach computer networking skills while China’s Future Science Star competition identifies upcoming scientists and Taiwan holds a Semiconductor Young Talent Camp each year.
• Through partnerships with select universities, Applied advances research, supports diversity and creates opportunities for students to pursue studies in nanotechnology and related scientific disciplines.
• To teach sustainability and environmental concepts to children ages nine and older, Applied has created an innovative Bright Future card game offered free of charge to teachers.
